Our Story: From 1976 to Today
Farleygreene was founded by Peter Davies and Alan Hare, who saw a clear need for better, more reliable and more bespoke sieving equipment. Their belief in practical engineering and problem‑solving laid the foundations for everything we still do today.
Since then, we’ve continued to evolve our product range in line with customer needs. Our Sievgen range opened the door to specialised metal‑powder processing, supporting the demanding requirements of the additive manufacturing sector. We’ve also developed our Slimline Rota centrifugal sieving range with innovations such as the cantilever drive shaft — improving hygiene, access and throughput. And our long‑standing Sievmaster Slimline range remains the dependable backbone of countless process lines, refined year after year through continuous design improvements.

Innovation Backed by Real‑World Testing
A big part of our development process is our in‑house test facility. Customers regularly send us materials to evaluate so we can ensure the right machine and mesh specification for each application. This hands‑on approach has become a defining part of who we are — practical, collaborative and focused on real‑world results.

Proudly Made in Britain
We’re committed to manufacturing all of our equipment in the UK. As proud members of the Made in Britain initiative, we continue to champion British engineering and local suppliers. Our operations are supported by ISO 9001 certification and ATEX QAN approval, helping us maintain consistent quality and rigorous safety standards for customers operating in high‑risk and regulated environments.

A Hampshire Business with a Global Reach
Although our roots are firmly in Hampshire, today our equipment is used by manufacturers across Europe, the Middle East, South and South‑East Asia, Australasia, North and South America, and throughout the Nordic and Baltic regions. Our network of independent distributors and long‑standing OEM partners has been central to this steady international growth.
A New Chapter Under Family Leadership
A significant moment in our recent history came in 2013, when Antony Hare, son of co‑founder Alan Hare, took sole ownership of the business. Over the past decade, Antony has helped strengthen our brand, expand our product offerings and invest in the people, processes and facilities that support long‑term growth — all while keeping the same core values the company was built on.
Here’s what Antony has to say about the anniversary:
“Reaching our 50th anniversary is something everyone at Farleygreene can be genuinely proud of. From the very beginning, the business was built on practical engineering, honest relationships and a determination to do things properly. That spirit remains exactly the same today. I’m immensely proud of our team, whose skill and dedication have carried the company forward, and grateful to our customers and distributors around the world who continue to put their trust in us. Quality has always been at the heart of what we do, and it will remain so for the next 50 years and beyond.”
Looking Ahead
As we celebrate this milestone, we remain focused on developing new products, refining our existing ranges and supporting our global distributors. Our commitment to UK manufacturing remains strong, with fabrication and assembly kept in‑house to maintain the highest standards.
Throughout 2026, we’ll be marking our anniversary with a series of activities, including:
- A commemorative film celebrating our history
- Special‑edition 50th merchandise for staff and exhibitions
- Internal events for our team, including a company scavenger hunt, charity challenges, sporting activities and a dedicated celebration

50 Years On — And Still Just Getting Started
After five decades of steady growth and engineering innovation, we’re entering this anniversary year with the same purpose Farleygreene began with: helping manufacturers around the world achieve cleaner, safer and more efficient processing.
Here’s to the next 50 years.
