Mapledurwell, Hampshire – Farleygreene have been shortlisted for the Innovation Excellence Award at this year’s Inspire Business Awards following the success of their Sievgen range for the additive manufacturing industry.
The awards are run by Destination Basingstoke and are intended to celebrate local businesses successes and contributions to the growth of the local economy in north Hampshire. The Innovation Excellence Award is given to a product, process or service that pushes the boundaries of innovation. Alongside two other companies in the same category, Farleygreene has demonstrated impressive product development and route to market, specifically with their Sievgen 04 (SG04) metal powder recycling unit, which has cemented Farleygreene as an innovator and market leader within this field of processing.
The additive manufacturing industry (AM) is evolving and growing very quickly, and this means that requirements are changing rapidly. A challenge that Farleygreene is dealing with thanks to its flexibility and continuous dialogue with end users. The SG04 unit has been constantly improved in line with changing requirements, so it remains the most advanced, user friendly powder recycling system on the market. To streamline the powder recycling process in the AM industry SG04 combines both conveying and sieving into a single unit that minimises the need for manual handling throughout the powder handling process, keeping both the powder and user safely separated.
Recycling fine metal powder is both time consuming and potentially dangerous, however due to the high costs of the powder it is a commercial necessity. To understand customers’ more vital requirements for an ideal recycling solution, the team at Farleygreene worked closely with several market leading bureaus and then designed a product truly fit for purpose.
Through their involvement in the research projects Farleygreene is in a position where it will soon be able to offer the next generation of SG04, which they anticipate will be most advanced AM recycling system on the market, and one that is truly ready to meet factory or production requirements.
